Corrigan's in Mayfair
Payday weekend is upon us and if you're not splashing the cash in the sales, I know where you can - on food of course!
As you are all aware I had a Birthday treat to London last month. I have a long list of restaurants that I would like to try and whilst looking them up they were all fully booked. We did some research and found Corrigan's in Mayfair - by chef Richard Corrigan.
Below is a little taster of what you'd experience if you headed there this weekend - or any weekend for that matter!
Obviously have to kick start the evening with a bit of Hendricks!
Amuse bouche - goats cheese ball and a wild mushroom purée on a puff pastry base (DELICIOUS!)
I chose the starter - Bentley's rooftop smoked salmon and heritage beetroot. Now this is proper smoked salmon!! I've never had salmon like this before and the flavours blew my mind.
Sam's starter was the caramelised chicken oyster, fresh morel. We were blown away by this starter, we had no idea what a chicken oyster was and asked the very helpful maître d' to explain that it was a tiny piece of the chicken and the tastiest!!
Sam had the oxtail pie with beaut onion rings.
I had john dory with a crab salad - another tasty dish!
We had to have potato gratin for the yummy, cheesy, goodness.
Dessert was shared because we were full to the brim but managed to squeeze in a little taste.
White chocolate pudding, wild strawberry, vanilla. So up my street!!
Petit fours of macaroons and truffles.
Whatever you do this weekend I hope you have a fab time (although I do think you should book into Corrigan's)
